The University of Georgia’s Society for Management Information Systems (SMIS) is a student managed organization that focuses on preparing and exposing students to the world of information systems. SMIS holds regularly scheduled company presentation meetings that allow students to interact with industry representatives and learn more about our growing industry and career opportunities. These meetings are a great way to network with professionals and learn more about possible career paths for MIS majors. In addition, SMIS holds various special events, such as networking and case study preparation workshops. Please see the calendar for an updated schedule for all events. Dress code is business causal, unless otherwise noted. Whether you are a third year already in the MIS program and looking for an internship or a first year just trying to learn about different majors, we hope to see you at our future events!
Our Goal
Our goal is to build a stronger relationship among MIS students, UGA MIS alumni, company recruiters and Terry MIS faculty. To accomplish this goal, we frequently host company presentations, professional development workshops, alumni functions and much more. Another great way to become more involved in MIS is to apply for a position on general committee. More information on elections here.
